Explore Mount Rainier National Park With Your Private Group
TourMtRainier offers you a personalized, safe exploration of one of the most iconic, mountain volcanoes in North America.
Being one of the few companies with a Commercial Use Permit from the Park, I can offer you hikes longer than 1 mile beyond a trailhead helping us get away from the crowds. This is a big plus during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Experiencing Mount Rainier’s trail system is an exceptional way to connect and appreciate this place of awe and wonder. I specialize in fully-guided, small group hiking tours designed to maximize your time and experience at Mount Rainier National Park. Choose one of our small group hiking tours and enjoy a variety of observations. Feel the power of a waterfall or glacial fed river as we walk by on one of Mt. Rainier’s diverse trails. Take opportunities for contemplation, smell the richness of many landscapes, challenge yourself (or not) from the variety of trails offered.
TourMtRainier is operated by Owner/Tour Guide, Diann Sheldon, who has over 30 years of experience guiding satisfied customers. I love spending the day with other National Park/outdoor enthusiasts and look forward to creating memories with you!
Response to Coronavirus ~ Our Plan for 2021
17 March 2021
As the Coronavirus continues to impact our lifestyles, I have made changes to my tour offerings. In 2021, I won’t be offering transportation, we will meet at a pre-determined trailhead to being our time together. Several different types of hikes will be offered this season beginning in May of 2021. You can choose your hike based on difficulty, a particular area of the Park, how long of hike and more. See the hike descriptions on my tour page.
I am currently offering snowshoe tours in the Park. We will meet at the Whittaker Mountaineering store in Ashford where you can rent tire chains for the day and any other needed gear. Mount Rainier National Park requires all vehicles traveling in the Park to have tire chains for your vehicle even if it is a 4wd or AWD vehicle until May 1st. Note that during the winter months, many Park roads are closed to vehicle travel. The only entrance open is the Nisqually Entrance on the southwest side and from here you can travel as far as Paradise (weather and road conditions permitting).
Staying in touch with nature is always the best medicine, especially during these times. I wish you, your family and friends the best of health and prosperity during these uncertain times. I look forward to sharing this amazing environment with you.
