My enthusiasm and love
of Mt. Rainier National Park will inspire you, educate, and delight all of your senses. I have been discovering and exploring the great outdoors since I was a young girl. Living in
Wyoming, Utah, Virginia, Arizona, Oregon and Washington has provided me the opportunity to pursue my passion for discovery and share my excitement naturally with
others. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Arizona. Working as a fisheries biologist for the Arizona Game and
Fish Department and Mt. Hood National Forest enriched my understanding of wild places and our relationship with the natural world.
Pursuing my joy of driving and serving people I worked as a city bus operator/instructor for Lane Transit District in Eugene, Oregon. After my move to Washington state, I worked as a professional tour guide for Tours Northwest, a local Seattle company. I have had the opportunity to organize and lead numerous tours to Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, Glacier, Mount Rainier, Olympic and Yellowstone National Parks.
I am now following my dream of owning my own tour company in the southern Puget Sound area. I am delighted to live with Mt. Rainier in my backyard, and look forward to the opportunity to share this amazing National Park with you!
Carolyn Loren has worked seasonally as an Interpretative Ranger Naturalist in four national parks, and at Mount Rainier since 2012. She has worked throughout the park, at the Paradise, Longmire, Ohanapecosh and Sunrise Visitor Centers. Carolyn has hiked most of its trails including the famous Wonderland Trail. She has skied and snowshoed extensively in the Paradise area. Her goal is to help visitors find their own connections to the wondrous natural world of Mount Rainier. You will find Carolyn at the Sunrise Visitor Center in the summer months and working with us in her off-season.
Jennifer Rand started sharing information about National Parks in 1997. She has had the fortune of working as a Park Ranger and Educator at Mammoth Cave, Acadia, Cuyahoga Valley, and Mount Rainier National Parks. She now teaches science during the school year and explores the wilds of Washington during the summer. She is thrilled to help reveal the beauty of "The Mountain" with you.
